Whisper

When I walk alone in a lonely place, I listen a whisper from my parents, Khoka, we are here, look beside you, we are waiting. I turn my head but see no one except big big trees standing beside my walk way.

I do not write my diary for long but I shall write at least few lines today.  I am fine and I must be fine otherwise I can not proceed in life. Last night I listened to Vaughan Lee's lecture. It gave me immense pleasure. I am astonished see his wisdom about life and oneness. Winter is approaching throughout Dallas. Good night.

Another Job

Finally I have got another job in Cedar Valley College in Texas, just 1 hour drive from my apartment.  I have two part time job now, one is with Collin College and the second one Cedar Vallley College. So far I have taken Summer I semester with Cedar Valley and found students are good and cooperative. Now trying for a full time position. Hope so I shall get one at the end.

My main interest is to find out the optimum  level of interest rate. How to determine the most efficient rate of interest rate so that consumers and producers be happy. My students sometimes get confused about this part. However I try my best to explain it. Indeed, money supply issue has made the whole thing complicated.

Dear Orchana

Dear Orchana,
First of all, take my greetings in all the way. I do not get any response from you for long. Have u forgotten me? Never ever do that.

Winter is gradually approaching in Dallas and I walk in the evening through winter cloud in the field, grasses and trees. I become lonely, the way you are all the time.

Today I have sent my 170th application for job. I know this will be rejected too, the way all have been before. My job is to send application while employer's task is to reject it. It has been a vicious cycle.

Finally I have converted my website into Hossain Academy, a fulfillment of my father's dream, who spent all his life for promoting education, the way you do all the time.

If I had a job, I could have developed Hossain Academy in wider scale. I need another 6 software to complete it, which are expensive, I am unable to afford with my current part time job.

Dear Orchona....whenever I am in lonely, I come in touch with you, I write you, share you. I get spirit and go back home. How have you been able to overcome all greed, jealousy and hatred from your life? Are u a human ?

Please let me know, to what I am heading to? Am I on the track in the path of life?

Please allow me to meet you again for a while, the way we met last time for a fraction of second.
Do I know who you are?

It is yours...

Sayed Hossain

Welcome to Hossain Academy

Last week I have converted my website into Hossain Academy.
As my website is dealing with educational matters, it would be meaningful to make an Academy. Yes, it is an academy dealing with educational issues. Hossain Academy links are stated below:

You Tube: Hossain Academy
Facebook: Hossain Academy

Thank you

I just sit at home as I have no job

I just sit at home as I have no proper job for the last two years. Just doing a part time teaching. So I do not communicate with any one. Just walk in the streets alone and apply here and there for job but no response from employer. It is a jobless life. But still I am surviving and learning how a jobless person can survive, how they feel but luckily my brothers and sisters are good. They are around me. Also Allah is allowing me to survive due to His mercy.

Yes I shall write a book about my experience in life and have plan to complete my free school in future if Allah permits me finally. So far I have made 30 percent of the free school. You can visit my free school of econometrics and statistics. Click here

Unable to upgrade my website further

I had a plan to upgrade my website further so that I can help each and every students in building their econometrics and statistical model. But I am afraid I am unable to do that as I do not proper employment. My income from job is very limited. Moreover, there requires some expenses to upgrade the website.

If I can not make it please take it easy. But so far I have made will be helpful for you.

Helpless

I have been struggling to recover from my ailing health but failing to recover. I can not sleep at night I guess due to reaction of the medicine I am taking but can sleep at day time. As a result, I can not go to college to teach. So I may loose the job eventually. It is my only job supporting my family. Luckily my brothers and sisters as well as friends are supporting lot. Indeed I came to USA when the economy was bad. I am seeking Allah's support all the time. Hope so He will put His blessing upon me.

But luckily my sickness is not a serious one. Indeed, my less confidence on Allah has made me ill.

As a result I can not proceed with my website further where I can help thousands of students and researchers around the globe in their model building. You are welcome to see my educational site: Click

O Allah, O God, O Almighty, give me strength to stay with you all the while.

I am sick

I am sick for the last three weeks. I have lost my appetite, lost my motion and lost my sleep. I feel very lonely now. I am unable to reply to your emails or queries.

I guess the medicine I am taking has adversely affected me. I am dropping all medicine from today.

The main problem is sleeplessness. You can not do anything when you can not sleep.

I may go back to Bangladesh (my country) to take some rests. All my brothers and sisters are calling me to go back for treatment and support.

Looking for full time job

I am currently working as part timer in Collin College to teach economics but I need a full time job so that I can have a secure job so that I can develop my personal website in full swing. I applied hundreds of places but they declined to offer me a position. If I had a full time job, I would have bought few software such as Microfit, Minitab, Lindo, SAS and STATA. And I would have developed videos using these software for the researchers to develop their econometrics and financial models.

However I am leaving my curriculum vitae for your information

Dear Orchona

Dear Orchona, How are you today? You will be glad to hear that my informal school has been able to attract a considerable number of visitors. Today's statistics reveal that there has been 66 views from 15 countries including Palestine. Most of the visitors from Great Britain today. If things really work well, the way it is moving now, I intend to buy SPSS software to exhibit various application so that people can be benefited out of it.  But I need to have a proper employment so that I can do all these tasks.

It is deep night in Dallas. If you allow me, I go back to sleep. Maria is in deep sleep. Please pray for my daughter, the way you pray for everyone.

Dear Orchona, I have one query. How have you been able to free yourself from all greed and jealousy ? As you are free from all greed and jealousy, I see you not to complain about life. I see you happy all the time.Only a happy man can serve others, the way you are doing now.

Long journey

Planning to have a long journey by walk from Dallas to Washington. Almost impossible but still I am thinking. Who will bring my daughter to school if I am not around? However I have redesigned my personal homepage as: Click here

Hossain School

So far I have uploaded 21 videos. Now I am preparing slides of ARCH and GARCH model and would like to upload it by tomorrow. Daily I see there are 80 views on average from 10 to 15 countries. I am also getting good feedback from visitors. You can see my video channel or school. Sayed Hossain Channel

Yes I have bought Eviews software and with it I have started my school. So far I have uploaded 21 videos and have plan to upload another 21 videos using Eviews.

After completing Eviews, I have intention to buy SPSS software so that I can exhibit models like anova, manova, factor analysis etc. But the problem is I have no fund to buy it. I will have to wait for fund. Or if I get a good job, I can start my school again. Indeed I intend to buy seven software for my school.

After finishing my school, I shall be start walking in the Dallas highway. I may come back or not.

I have left Pizza Hut job

As my car is totally damaged, I have left my Pizza Hut job. But I am continuing my part time teaching with College in the morning. One person rides me and my daughter in the morning to reach school. She charges really little so I can afford. Meanwhile I am looking for a car as you can go almost no where in Dallas area without car. Hiring a private taxi is expensive in Dallas area.

Although I have no car now, I am enjoying life as winter is coming gradually. In the evening, I experience cool breeze that really gives me new strength to fight back. Indeed I am much better than the people living in Somalia now, who are dying from hunger and starvation. Mothers are moving to another place on foot in search of food but they are carrying only those child who can survive until food station, and leaving the rest in the streets.

All my savings get finished in USA

My today's bank balance has been record low, even I can not survive another one month with this savings. Luckily I have a job at Collin College and they will pay some money after few weeks. So I can run my family for another four months as my contract with Collin College would be ended in December 2011.

Whatever the resources I brought to USA from Malaysia, all is finished as I could not manage suitable job over the last 14 months due to economic downturn. The salary I receive from Collin College will allow me to pay house rent and one month meal. There will be no saving at all at the end of the day. I am looking for alternative sources of income and probably I will get back to my father (Normally father earns  for his family and we children get helped out of it  without any effort)

In addition to that, last week my car broke down and I took it to a guarage. The mechanics so far failed to repair it. I have only one car in my possession and in Dallas area, without a car you can go no-where as the public transportation system is designed poorly. They encourage private ownership of vehicles.

She is asking me, I want to see how long you can survive in this way?
As long as You want, I reply.
Yes, that is the answer, She Smiles.

But I am enjoying the situation as I am learning new things, never faced before. Last time I had a good job, spent money easily but now I can not. But last time I did not learn hardship, so could not learn life. Now I am gathering knowledge, making me competitive and knowledgeable. Thanks to Her for opening a new avenue of learning.

New Job at Collin College in Dallas

Finally I have been appointed to teach economics in Collin College for fall semester. My lectures have commenced since last week. The  campus is just 20 minutes drive from my Richardson place. In the morning, first I drop my daughter at school at 7.10am and then I drive for college. I come back home sometime at 11.30 am. As the job in Collin College is a part time one, I am still holding my Pizza Hut position. In the morning, I teach economics and in the evening I work at Pizza Hut to supplement my income. I do not know how long I can handle two jobs at a time.

This is for today. I shall be writing in details later. We are going to celebrate Eid Ul Fitre tomorrow in Dallas. Eid Mubarak to all of you. How is life?

My Pizza Hut job is going on

My Pizza Hut job is going smoothly. I work there around 20 hours a week mainly in the evening as most of the pizza orders are placed during that time. My tasks are to deliver pizza door to door, cleaning utensils and managing customers. I earn money hourly and also tips from the customers. The income I receive can support my house rent only and the rest I spend from my personal belongings.

US economy has reached at its bottom and rate of unemployment is still at record high, registering at 9 percent. Government is cutting spending to avoid defaults that will trigger unemployment problem further.

Join at Pizza Hut

I have joined Pizza Hut from last week. There had been an wonderful event yesterday at Pizza Hut where I worked 5 hours although I had been initially scheduled to work 3 hours. I did extra two hours.

My task was mainly to deliver Pizza and I did it to seven places. I also cleaned utensils and other stuffs using washing machines. I also asked to entertain guests.

People over there are friendly and I took the job as a fun. At the end I have some tips in my wallet. My today's schedule is little bit longer than yesterday and I will be rushing there this afternoon.

You can see my CV where I have put Pizza Hut as my new employer.

Want to write a paper on quantitative easing using VECM model

I intend to write a paper on quantitative easing,  very recently adopted by Federal Reserve System in USA. I intend to use vector error correction model to analyze whether adoption of quantitative easing has been fruitful for US economy. To run the vector error correction model, I need Eviews which I do not have right now so I can not run. The price of it is also high, asking about $450 for single user. I can not afford it now. Anyone can allow me to use Eviews for a while? (Just kidding)

Bank of Japan and European Central Bank have also used quantitative easing to revive their economies. Quantitative easing is used mainly when the interest rate goes down to zero percent but economy is still sluggish, Central Bank prints money to buy huge amounts of financial assets from the economy so that money enters into economy to spur economic growth. If you want to know more about quantitative easing you can check my website. Click here

If you want to know about vector error correction model, you can also browse my website. Click here

While being in Multimedia University in Malaysia, I had all software, Eviews, Amos, Lindo, Lingo. SPSS. Minitab etc and I frequently used them to run my data but now even I do not have a single one under my possession.

I am looking for a job that will allow me to use all software such as Eviews, Amos, Lindo, Lingo, Minitab, SPSS etc. When can I get this job?

When do you want this job? God probably ask me in my inner sense with a smile.
When You permit me, I reply.
Yes, that is the answer, She smiles.

Today I am slightly sick so sitting at home looking through windows. Life in Dallas is very good due to good weather, fresh foods and presence of big big trees especially my town where I live in has lots of Oak trees and green fields where I walk through and enjoy shade of sun light and rainfall.

What is Quantitative Easing 2 (QE2) adopted by Federal Reserve System?

Few people asking me about it. I have already posted in my Economic Diary. Also posting it here. Click here.

Should Federal Reserve adopt QE3 after June? I can comment on it after June 2011 when the QE2 session would be ended.

Many people say that QE2 has lots of weaknesses. Yes, I do agree but without QE2, the rate of unemployment would have been 11 percent and the US economy may enter into deflation.

Due to QE2, Long Run Rate such as 10 year or 30 year Treasury Yield have gone down to almost 3 percent. So there may be a boost up in long run spending, is required for reviving the economy.

But the most alarming thing, housing prices are plummeting despite several intervention by Washington.

62nd wedding anniversary of my parents

My parents got married on March 13, 1949 at Enayetpur, a small village of Sirajganaj in Bangladesh, just 62 years ago from now. We would like to celebrate the day, which is today. My brothers and sisters are celebrating too in their own places. My father was 25 while my mother crossed 16 at the event of marriage.

Both of my parents were from same village, Enayetpur, a small village in Bangladesh beside Jamuna river. Although I was born in Dhaka, I had a strong affiliation with Enayetpur due to my parental homeland. We used to visit their twice a year especially during summer and winter. We have lots of memories over there especially my parents are lying there peacefully with their ancestor now.

My father passed his college life in Rajshahi from Rajshahi College. Later on, he went to Anandamohan College in Mymensing to study bachelor in history, just immediately before the Indian Independence. My mother was a housewife, spent her whole life to raise seven children with her thin hands (as she was a thin lady). So whenever we think about our mother, a pair of thin hand appears before us, with it she served us day and night. May Allah be kind upon them, they way they were on us.

My father saw Mahatma Gandhi in his own eyes. He also met Subash Chandra Basu, Shordal Patel, Moulana Abul Kalam Azad during his early age.

However I have cooked some special foods to celebrate the event. Pictures are given below. This year we did not invite anyone but next year we have plan to do so.

How to survive?

As I said, I am teaching part time in this spring semester, would be ended in May. The money I receive from teaching can cover my house rent and water bills. The rest expenses, I withdraw from my past savings that I brought from Malaysia, which is about to finish.

This week I am hunting again for all types of odd jobs but not getting at all due to economic sluggishness. Today I went to few shopping malls and restaurants for jobs. They told me that they would be contacting me over telephone, meaning that chances of getting the job is slim. Indeed, these companies normally hire teen aged or young girls/boys, not an old person like me, as the job demands some physical actions such as cleaning and washing.

I applied to most of the educational institutes for a full time position. They acknowledged all my applications but at the end of day they disappeared from the radar.

One of the Deans of a Business School emailed me that they received 250 applications against a single post. All applicants are eligible for the post, he mentioned in the email.

Most disadvantage part lies with me that I do not have any US based educational certificate, one of the vital conditions for getting a suitable job.

Current rate of unemployment in USA is stood at almost 9 percent, close to the prevailing rate in Europe. Many US companies have migrated to India and China together with jobs in quest of lower labor cost.

The United States of America is suitable for computer oriented people, not a person like me.

So what I should do now ? Should I stay or leave the country ? Leaving the USA would not be a solution as Maria likes her teacher, particularly the school. Komol is preparing for her qualifying exam, so she should not be disturbed. Personally I like Dallas too due to chilly weather, Oak trees and sweat smell in the air.

In this situation, if I go back to Bangladesh, I can stay there happily as my parents have left a place for me to stay. I can also work there as lots of private universities are operating there. Thanks God I have at least one place to stay as millions over there do not have any. So I should not complain about life.

But going back to pavilion would not bring a solution especially after spending one year in Texas. I need to find out ways to survive.

I need $2K monthly to have a minimum decent life. How do I spend this $2K each month?
House rent : $ 865, Water $ 50, Internet : $30, Power $ 130, Car insurance $ 50, Telephone $ 100, Food $ 500 etc. This is a typical expenses for a family of three in the United States.

Luckily, US Federal and State Govt are jointly supporting Maria's health and education, otherwise we would have left the country many days ago as the cost involved in these two sectors is unbearable by the the low income group in the United States. I would say, most of the poor children would have died if the US Govt did not share medical expenses. As said, 13-17 percent of the population are living below the poverty line in USA and I am one of them as per the poverty measurement guideline.

In this regard, I would like to recollect my memory about a book that I read  while being in Malaysia. The book contains all the letters of Poet Modhusudan Dutta, during the period when the poet brought his family to London to study law. During his stay in London, the poet faced hardship due to lack of financial support to maintain his family and study. In his letters, written to friends, he expressed all his agony and  challenges, he encountered from financial scarcity. The poet wrote most of his letters to Isharchandra Biddashagor, an outstanding personality in this contemporary world. I learned a lot from his letters so do Komol. But the promising news is that at the end of the day, poet got his law degree and returned to India after all these struggles.

Although I am passing through uncertainty, I am not regretting  as the situation is helping me to know how to  get things managed in the rainy days.  Komol and Maria are also learning, helping them to get prepared for the future challenges.

Only we can learn, when hardship and scarcity appear in life. I want to fight back again and again in the midst of clouds and fogs. Hoping that a light will be appeared at the end of the tunnel eventually. I would like to remember the holy scripture, Even if you ask the mountain to move, it will, if you have the faith.

Whenever I walk in the street, God smiles at me to see my condition.
She probably says, I want to see how long you survive in this way.
As long as You want, I reply in my heart.
Yes, that is the answer, She smiles.

As I said before, I am not good at writing English. So please read my article with caution.

Do you think I am wring something gloomy? No, it is not. I am hopeful one day I will overcome all. If Columbus could round the world with an wooden ship, I can also run my family.

You can see a symbol of poverty in my SLR camera. I put high shutter speed to enhance the sharpness of the picture.

Whether a tiger is ferocious?

A tiger lives in the forest and usually recognized as ferocious animal.  We frequently see in the media that a tiger is running after its prey with its long teeth. The beast apparently looks ferocious at that moment.

But, by nature, by default, a tiger can not eat anything other than flesh. The tiger hunts animals for the purpose of its survivale. Without flesh the tiger would have died. So how can we say a tiger is ferocious ?

At the below, Maria is using my computer wearing my glass.

Deep Jele Jai - A Bengali Film

Just downloaded the bengali film Deep Jele Jai on line. I saw this film many years ago and yesterday I saw it again. It is an excellent movie by Shuchitra Sen. Just go to Google and find the free downloading.

It is a story of a hospital nurse who serves a mental patient to give light into his heart so that the patient can be recovered. The nurse was asked to act as a lover of the mental patient as a part of therapy. Finally, the patient gets recovered and releases from the hospital after all those therapies. But the nurse, who was supposed to act as lover, falls in love with the patient in reality. As soon as the patient walks away from hospital, the nurse becomes mentally ill and got admitted into the same hospital as a mental patient. The name of the nurse was Radha

The famous songs are:
1. Ei raat tomar amar ...
2. Tomar moton sister ...

If you have time, you can download it. Just type Deep Jele Jai  in Google search box. You will see two film, one got English subtitle and other do not have.

Here, Deep means light or candle, Jele Jai means I am lightening. So the name of the film  I am lightening candle

Here, the nurse Radha lightening the candle in the hearts of the mental patients. As a result, patients get recovered from mental distress but at the cost of Radha's agony.

The film reminds me about Florence Nightingale, a favorite personality of mine. Florence Nightingale was a nurse, served war injured patients in a hospital. At night, she used to visit her patients with a lamp and that is why she is known as The lady with the Lamp

I am gradually making a website of Florence Nightingale and will be releasing in future

My personal blog 'Sayed Hossain Diary' has entered 1k visitors

Happy to see that my personal blog 'Sayed Hossain Diary' has entered into 1k visitors last week since its inception in May 2011. Thanks to those who have spent their valuable time on my personal diary.

It is appreciated always if you come up with comments so that I can know the right thing.

As I said before, I am not good at writing English so read my articles with caution. I have been advised to learn English and I am trying to upgrade my command over English. Thinking of taking a course on how to produce good English sentences.

Thank you once again.

Life is as usual. I am teaching this week how to calculate the total production, goods and services produced in the United States in one year time period

Dallas is under snow

For the last seven days, I am experiencing 'Snow Rain' in Dallas area. All the schools are closed for the last seven days. It is hard to drive in the streets due to slippy road condition so I am not driving. Life has been stagnant not only in Dallas but throughout United States.

Normally Dallas is not a snow prone area as it is located in the South. Snow gets heavier if you head to North, towards Canada.

I am sitting at home idle as all classes are temporarily canceled due to inclement weather. Komol has cooked a special Bangladeshi food 'Khichuri' while I have cooked 'Chicken'. So there had been wonderful days.

I am spending most of my time beside the window to see 'Snow Rain' as stuffs are falling from heaven. God has come down with Her beauty in which we are dwelling. Specially snow falls at night is extremely beautiful so I sleep beside the window to see the falling . Snow falls gradually while I enter into sleep and dream.

Sun is almost disappeared for the last seven days while snow storm is replacing the place. Temperature has dropped to 13 degree F in Dallas area. Maria went down into the snow to play. Weather Department has predicted that temperature would go up to 40 degree F on Monday meaning that sun is likely to appear. In USA, weather forecast is very reliable and normally we set our plan on the basis of forecast.

Since I am sitting at home, I have again edited the manuscript 'Abar Shei Britte' to get it published on March 17, 2011. Last time I failed to publish it on Jan 23 as planned. It is a story of  Rusha, a Bangladeshi immigrant residing in the US with her family.

You can see some pictures taken through my apartment window in Dallas.

My teaching with North Central Texas College

Finally I have got a part time job in North Central Texas College to teach Economics. I have started to teach since Jan 18, the day is also Maria's birthday.

North Central Texas College is a Govt owned institute where they offer various programs ranging from economics to medicine (so far I have seen in their web page).

I have taken already one week lecture. I am teaching Macroeconomics for this semester.

Last week, I  lectured on few issues such as, how the spending affects the economy ? If the spending gets squeezed or increased, how the Govt and Central Bank can compensate it ? What are the issues being debated in US Congress to manage recession ?

I found students in the class are calm and polite. So far I did not face any difficulty to teach. I am putting  lecture notes in my personal website so that students can access to it. You can see my lecture notes page. Click here

I taught Economics almost twelve years in Malaysia and now I am teaching in USA. I have the same feeling that I had in Malaysia.

I need to drive almost 70 minutes in the early morning to reach my office. I come back home at 10.30 am and bring Maria to school.

I am looking for a full time teaching position around and hope so I will get one.

Whether God is aggressive?

What is the nature of God? Whether She wants to fight back with the devils or allow them to control the earth ? I would like to discuss this issue in the light of  holy books.

First, I would like to talk about Hindu Supreme God, Lord Vishnu. Many Hindu scholars are with the opinions that Lord Vishnu came down on earth at least 9 to 11 times in the shape of human (or other form) to defend mankind from devils. For example, Krishna, Ram and Gautam Budhdha are beleived to be incarnations of Lord Vishnu. In other words, Krishna, Ram and Gautam Buddah are the same Person.

Hinduism beleives in Trinity (three in one or one in three) where Lord Vishnu is the preserver, Lord Shiva is  the destroyer and Lord Brahma is the creator of the universe. In other words, Hindu Supreme God has three personalities, Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma, similar to Christianity such as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Through Krishna, Lord Vishnu fought against Kauravas in the Kurushkhetra War to establish righteousness on earth. In the Kurushkhetra War, Krishna orderded Arjuna to kill all his brothers for the sake of righteousness and Arjuna did it. Eventually, Kauravas defeated and Pandavas got back their kingdom. Through the war of Kurushkhetra, mankind was restored and devils were destroyed. In this case, we see God has taken aggresive role for restoring  mankind and righteousness.

Indeed, Holy Gita was revealed to Arjuna by Krishna in the midst of Kurushkhetra war.

Through Ram, Lord Vishnu destroyed Ravana and his son Indrajit, Kumbhokorna, brother of Ravana to establish righteousness on this land. Here we see God is also merciless in the question of  perishing devils.

The story is different in case of Gautam Buddah. Gautam Buddah is beleived to be one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu. But we never saw Gautam Buddah to engage in battle, rather He taught people to ran away from war and struggle to attain Nirvana, a state of mind where you will be able to break the Cycle of Rebirth . So the role of God as well as the teaching of God is different  in case of Gautam Buddah  from Krishna and Ram.

If we look into Islam, Islam does not beleive in incarnation (God Herself comes down on earth in the shape of human to preach religion). God sent prophets as Her messengers to speak Her words and Her existence. Noah, Moses, Jesus (Prophet Isa), John (Prophet Yahya) and Mohammad are the prominent prophets among thousands.

God directly helped prophet Moses to destroy Faraoh's army in the Nile River. God also encouraged Prophet Mohammad to engage in war to defend Islam as a result there were 27 wars (small and large).

In case of Noah, God destroyed the non-beleivers by a flood.

So we see God is aggresive in case of Noah, Moses and Mohammad for establishing truth.

But we see the same God is behaving quite differently in case of Jesus (Prophet Isa). God did not fight back against Romans and Jewes who tortured Jesus. Instead Jesus was exhaulted to heaven directly (Christians beleive that Jesus was crucified by the Romans and Jewes while Islam says Jesus was exhaulted to heaven directly just before the crucifixation attempt by the Roman Governor Pilat). As a result, Roman and Jewes successfully fulfilled their desire. Devils survived while mankind was at stake.

In the past, many prophets were killed by the devils and God allowed it to happen. The best example is John (Prophet Yahya), killed by King Herod.

So it has been very difficult to conclude about the nature of God as She is behaving differently from time to time. Whether God is aggresive to defend righteousness or prefers to avoid confrontation or allows devils to rule the earth or something else beyond human imagination?

I am not good at writing English so please read my article with caution.

Today weather in Dallas is chilly and we are cooking for a good launch at home. Today is Saturday so holiday.

Maria's birthday on Jan 18, 2011

We are arranging a small indoor program to celebrate Maria's birthday on Jan 18. In this regard, we will buy a cake and cook some good foods. We are going to order a cake today. She will be five years on the coming Jan 18.

I would like to invite you to attend at Maria's birthday. We are expecting doa on this event.

My lecture with the North Central Texas College (NCTC) will be commencing on the same day, that is Jan 18. It is almost one hour drive from my apartment. I have appointed to teach economics and it is a part time position. North Central Texas College is a government institute, offers various programs and courses ranging from economics to biology.

Since my job is a part time one, the income I will receive can support my housing bills and two meals a day (but not the third meal). However, I am happy as I have got something especially in these bad days US economy is passing by. To fill up the income gap, I am planning to join Kentucky Fried Chicken as a part timer.

Still the rate of unemployment stood at almost 9 percent in USA now.

Temperature has dropped heavily in Dallas. Last week we experienced Snow Rain. For the first time I saw snow falling. We took some pictures especially Maria was excited to see all those stuffs. Maria is on routine medication to get rid of her asthma problem. In Dallas area, most of the children got asthma. It is an asthma prone area.

We are enjoying chilly weather and fresh foods (Thanks Allah for Her consideration). Maria is fine going to school regularly.

You can see Maria's personal website. Click here

Abar Shei Britte (Back again to Circle)

Dear Orchona, You may ask me about the progress of the manuscript entitled "Abar Shei Britte (Back Again to Circle)" supposed to be published on Jan 20, 2011 (as declared in my personal website).

The answer is, Yes, I am writing but speed is little bit slow as most of the time I spend on hunting a proper job around.

You may expect a good news soon about a proper job. Otherwise, I will be forgetting all of my econometrics applications that require regular practice and exercises.

If you do not practice econometrics for more than three months, you are likely to forget all those stuffs.

Nearly 1 in 3 working families are struggling now in USA

A statistic reveals that nearly 1 in 3 working families are struggling now to manage their basic needs in the United States. In other words, about 100 million people are struggling out 308 million, the population size of the United States.

Situation may get deteriorated further in 2011 if Govt cut social security spending to manage its deficit of USD 1.4 trillion now.

Annual US Federal Govt budget stands at almost USD 3.5 trillion but half of it goes to support the needy people of the society through social security program (unemployment benefit, food etc), medicaid (health support) and medicare (health support) program.

Almost 13-17 percent of the population are living below the poverty line in USA and without govt support they may not even survive especially no one can afford medical bill. In USA, the medical bill is always a giant figure. So if you are sick and if you do not have any medical insurance or if you are not attached with any Govt health program such as medicare or medicaid or so on, you will have to spend all of your properties for treatment.

In USA, if you are sick you can admit any medical hospital for treatment. Hospital will treat you whether you can pay or not. After treatment they will send you the medical bill.

Suppose your medical bill has been USD 10 thousand. If you are not capable to pay right now (you do not have any medical insurance also), hospital may ask you to pay in 4/5 years time. They will set an installment amount for every month so that you can pay in next 4/5 years.

By law, a hospital can not deny your treatment by saying that you are not capable to pay. Treatment first whoever (citizen, illegal, tourist, student etc) you are.

Should US Congress approve tax cut?

The question is raised now whether US Congress should pass the tax cut bill. There are pros and cons involved with this tax cut bill being debated in US Congress. They are:

First, If the tax cut is approved, the Government budget deficit will increase (as govt revenue goes down) to a new height (currrently, it is almost 1.3 trillion). As a result, Govt will have to borrow more to finance its deficit, so total debt will be hieghtened further. Currently debt is almost 14 trillion, 100 percent of US economic size or GDP ( GDP is the total value of goods and services produced in a year)

Second, If there is a tax cut, certainly investment by the business and spending by the households would be boosted. Hence more employment and output.

As interest rate is gone down to almost zero percent and the tax cut is on its way, US economy is likely to experience at least 3-4 percent growth in 2011 and 2012 if other factors remain unchanged. Hence, more employment and output. But this enhancement will be achieved at the cost of increased govt debt (due to tax cut).

Third, if the economy really tends to grow at 3 percent or more in 2011 and 2012, Prof Bernanke, the Chief of US Central Bank is likely to come down hard with his monetary weapons. They are likely to mop up excess liquidity from the financial system by selling bond from Central Bank's possession. This mop up procedure will be conducted to reduce excess demand so as to control inflation.

Forth, As I said, US Central Bank is injecting USD 600 billion now to lower the interest rate. But Central Bank only can control the short run interest rate but not long run. If you see the current Yield to Maturity (YTM) curve, you will find that it is steeper now meaning that yield of the bond will go up in the long run especially in the case of treasury bonds linked with 10 years and 30 years maturity. In other words, we are expecting higher interest rates in the long run.

Interest rate will be high in the long run meaning that economy will be growing at a faster rate in future as has been reflected in the steeper Yield to Maturity (YTM) curve.

Long run fixed mortgage rates are all on the rise (in case of fixed mortgage rates) as they normally follow Yield to Maturity (YTM) curve of the treasury bonds. As a result, long run industries especially housing one may be affected adversely due to hike mortgage rates.

Since economy is likely to experience inflation in the long run due to tax cut, it would be preferable to invest in stocks rather than bonds as bond prices will be lowered in the long run as YTM will be on the rise in future.

I am expecting 3-4 percent growth in 2011 and 2012 due to tax cut and low interest rate but the whole process will be nullified if the Central Bank fails to contain inflation, likely to come due to excess spending.

Historically we have observed that inflation is the most disturbance element for an economy as it eats up our asset, income and standard of living.

So if there is tax cut,  employment and economic growth will be accelerated but at the cost of debt. So we have to decide which one we prefer.

Should we accept debt for attaining lower unemployment rate? I would like to discuss this issue in another article.

Winter is coming in Dallas

Winter is coming throughout the United States. As a result, leaves are getting yellow and starting to fall in the streets and every where. I usually walk in the semi forest area to see all these yellow leaves. Indeed USA is very nice now. Gentle breeze blows at night which is chilly. You can take a big breath. The smell of the wind reminds me as I passing through a corn field.

I have posted some of the pictures below taken at a place just beside my house.

As per advice of KFC manager, I purchased the non-slippery black shoe from Wal-mart in Richardson. It costs me USD 20. Also manage a black trouser.

So my duty in KFC as Team Member will begin on coming Wednesday at 2 PM noon. Initially they will ask me to work 4 days a week.

I wanted to take a sharp picture so I put higher shutter speed. The combination was :
Shutter 1/300, Aperture 4.5 and ISO 400.

I purchased this shoe, a non-slippery one so that I can clean floor confidently

It is 3 am I am going to sleep

I am going to sleep as it is already 3 am morning in Dallas. Good night. Wish u a sweat dream. I have been working on the manuscript entitled "Back again in the circle:

It is 3am Good night

The poor to be the first group to enter into heaven

Maria has a tendency to asthma problem. So we have bought nebulizers and necessary medicine to combat asthma.

In USA you can not buy any medicine without doctor's prescription. So we went to Doctor and got a prescription. After wards we bought the nebulizer machine from CVS pharmacy.

Maria is much better now with nebulization. But sometime she requires singular.

Doctor told us if your daughter does not recover after nebulization, immediately report to a hospital for immediate medical action. Luckily we did not face such a thing.

But I can support my daughter's asthma treatment but what about a poor mother residing in the remote area in Bangladesh where neither a doctor nor a nebulizer is found. So when her daughter is attacked by asthma, the poor mother has nothing to do other than accept the death of her daughter. Probably that is why our prophet recognized the poor to be the first batch to enter into heaven.

I made this poster to pray using my camera in my photo studio in Dallas

Back again in the circle ( Abar Shei Britte)

I am preparing the new manuscript entitled " Abar Shei Britte or Back again in the circle" so that I can publish the book on Dec 29, 2010 on my birthday. It is a book of 210 pages dealing with Bangladesh and USA life.

This book will talk about the features of God.

Of course I will publish it on line as usual so that every one can read.

Finally got job in Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in Dallas

Yes I have finally got an odd job in Kentucky Fried Chicken yesterday and I would like to explain how it happened.

As I said, in USA you need to apply on line for most of the jobs. So I applied for Team Member position in KFC located in Richardson area. In USA doing application is not enough, you need to chase the manager or office to know the status of your application. So I talked to manager and he said to meet him together with Green Card, Driving License and Social Security Card so as to proof that I am a permanent resident of USA. Normally, reputed companies will not hire an illegal residents in their offices, probably, from the  legal point of view, they can not higher any illegal (I need to double check this information)

In USA, without driving license employers normally do not offer job as the staff may not attend job on time. So a valid driving license is one of the pre-requisites to get a job.

So I went to KFC store together with those papers yesterday. As soon as I entered the KFC shop, the existing staffs offered me some foods and drinks but I declined to take with a smile. Then manager came and shook hands with me with a smile. He said, you are welcome here and I am preparing all the papers for you so that you can join our team. Thank you for joining our KFC team.

After a while he prepared all the papers and called some one using his cell phone. Over telephone I gave a short interview. Manager said, you are hired. Then he said, you got to do few things in my store such as, dealing with the customers when they come to buy foods and you need to clean the glass windows of the shop. Are you ok with all these? I am fine with it, I said with a smile.

Then he said, you need to wear special types of KFC staff dress while you are on duty. You need to wear black cap, black shirt, black trouser and black shoes. What is your size, sir? I said, I use extra large as I am  big and fat. Normally they call "Sir" or "Madam" to their customers or candidates.

Then the manager said, we will be supplying you the cap and shirt for you (embedded with KFC logo) but you need to manage black trousers and shoes by your own but make sure the shoe must be non-slippery. I said, why are u asking for non-slippery one? He said, if you are required to clean the floor, the non-slippery shoes will help you to stay firm.

Now I need black trousers.

Mother gifted you few black trousers last time while you were in Malaysia so you do not need to buy, Komol reminded me today while I was driving car in the morning. That is good information so I declined to visit Walmart to buy it. But I need the non-slippery shoes. KFC manager advised me to buy it from Walmart as the price  would be cheaper there, around USD 10.

Afterwards he asked me, Sayed, can u join on coming Wednesday? I said, I am ready to do that. Then manager smiled and said, ok then we will be meeting you soon. Thank you sir for helping our team to run this KFC shop.

The manager and existing staffs really behaved me nicely. Hope so rest of the days will be good too. But the problem will raise with Maria as I bring her to school and take back home daily. So I need to schedule with some one to get the work done. May be I will hire some one to do that job as school is very important although I had never been serious of going to school while I was a school boy.  I used to walk miles after miles in the streets of Dhaka in the broad day light without any specific purpose. But the truth is, I learned most of the things from street walking.

This is my first job in USA and I am very excited. I do not know how much will be paid per hour. It is an hourly job and can be resigned any time. Good news is, the shop is just 12 minutes drive from my apartment in Dallas.

Next year 2011, US economy may revive slightly as US Central Bank is going to inject USD 600 billion in the economy over the next 8 months to increase money supply, so interest rates will go down further. As soon as, interest rates go down, may enhance spending and investment. The growth rate is expected to be 3 percent in the whole 2011, is not enough to combat 9 percent unemployment. USA requires at least 4 percent growth rate to curb current unemployment problem.

President Barak Obama and Prof David Bernanke of US Central Bank have taken all possible fiscal and monetary measures but things are not working. So we need to look into economy from other angles to get rid of current sluggishness. Traditional Keyenesian and Moneterist schools or measures appear to be not working.

Kentucky Fried Chicked

I have applied for a position in Kentucky Fried Chicken yesterday and waiting for the result. It is another odd job. Initially they asked me, are u willing to clean and wash the floor of the KFC?

Yes, I am very much comfortable with all those stuffs as I always clean and wash my house. All jobs are equal to me as long as it is legal, I replied. They kept silent and said, well, we will be contacting you later. The behaved very politely that attracted me really.

In USA, the system is, you will apply for a position and need to keep touch with the office to know the status of the application. Sometime they want to know whether you really need the job or not.

Sorry we are full now

Yesterday I went to Target, a chain shopping mall at Plano Road in Richardson to know the status of my job application for the cashier position.

The lady opened my application file and said, Yes we have received your application but right now we are full. As soon as, new position gets opened, I will be calling you. Sorry sir I can not help you right now, the lady answered very politely. In USA, wherever you go for a job, they behave politely with the candidate. And normally they say " Sir" or "Madam".

So I came back home and trying to put new applications in new places. One professor asking for Research Assistantship position. I did it. Also I applied few community colleges around for lecturers/research position last week.

I write my blog very fast so if there is any error please forgive me.

When I was heading to my house today, I saw 'engine light" was on meaning that there has been some problem in the engine.

US companies are hoarding US 1 trillion as per Moody's Report

US companies are hoarding USD 1 trillion meaning that one thousand billion dollar which is equivalent to almost one third of US Federal Govt budget.

They are hoarding as the economy is in sluggish position and future is still unknown and uncertain. So companies are not investing meaning not adding jobs.

Although Federal Reserve has reduced its rate (known as Fed Rate) to a record low but things are not improving (I feel so) but good thing is Texas unemployment rate has dropped to 8.1 percent this September.

Cutting interest rate is not enough. Important issue is confidence. As soon as, companies will have confidence on economy, they will start spending their USD 1 trillion. Only confidence and spending can boost the economy.

How to enhance confidence? This is we need to investigate further.

Second Day of Eid festival

Yesterday we had Eid festival and today is the second day of the festival. I went to Plano Mosque to take my pray, 50 minutes drive from my Richardson house. It is a nice well built mosque.

In the second day of the Eid festival, we did not do anything. I just sat at my home and settled Maria's health related plan with Texas Govt Authority. Yes, Texas Authority has allowed Maria to enter into their health coverage as her parents are unemployed. Normally when you are unemployed Govt extends its hand specially in health care services.

Maria has enrolled into CHIP program, a health coverage plan of the Govt for the child.

Tomorrow I will go to Sears again to apply for a job as the store has opened the space to apply. Sears is very near to my house and I can easily go if job is offered. It would be an hourly basis odd job, people normally do when they lose their job. Sometime it is called 'Survivor Job"

US weather is getting cooler day by day as December is approaching. But we are really enjoying this cool windy days. Normally I walk in front of my apartment after my dinner and enjoy cool windy breeze. It is really amazing indeed.

So it is time to sleep. I am removing the cover (here they call it blind) of my glass covered window, so that I can see the full moon. I am also putting my mattress beside the window so that moonlit falls on my body. Outside it is cool and windy but the sky is very clear. So I will enjoy the moonlit and gets asleep. It is 12.15 mid night at Richardson. The whole Richardson is sleeping.

My command over English is poor

Indeed my command over English is poor and that has been reflected in my blog. Many persons say so and I also personally feel so. So please read my blog with caution.

Pizza Delivery Man

Went to Pizza Store physically at Shiloh, Belt line and Cambell road in Richardson area to know my application status as I applied for a team member. All the managers of these three stores politely declined to offer me a position.

They said they would contact me if required.

Eid Day

Tomorrow I am going to experience Eid Ul Azha for the first time in USA. Komol has purchased some beef and other stuff to cook something so that we can entertain guests.

Komol has told me to arrange some onions for her so that she can start cooking as it is already 7PM in Richardson. Only few things will be prepared this time as Komol's exam is knocking at the door.
Items are: beef, khichuri and some sweats.

I sent a big letters with a Eid Greetings to all of my brothers and sisters.

21k Visitors at Bangla Book

My personal website Bangla Book has entered into 21k visitors yesterday since its journey on Feb 2008. But if you consider all the pages of the website, the figure reached at 38k visitors.

I would like to thank all the visitors for spending their valuable time on my writings. Also thanks to those who sent remarks at my guest book. I would like to thank those who sent emails regarding my writings. Indeed I have been benefited a lot from all these remarks. Thanks to all again

I launched this website when I was in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. I have purchased space from Yahoo to make this Bangla Book website and I need to pay around USD 12 per month for using My Domain and Space.

I am planning to write something now but the progress is very slow as most of the time I spend on searching job in Dallas. I am looking for a teaching position as I only know how to teach. Meanwhile I am planning to work at Pizza Hut as Assistant Manager/Helper. I am on the way to apply.

Asthma patient and Ice Cream

Suddenly Maria had some asthma problem so we immediately brought her to the emergency of Children Medical Center in Dallas, which is 45 minutes drive from my house in Richardson. It is govt owned hospital.

As soon as we brought her to emergency, all the doctors rushed to her to treat and serve. Maria was there for six hours and every ten minutes, doctors came to see her progress. Really they served Maria very well. We came back home in the same day. Now Maria is fine and start her school again.

But when we saw medical bill, they charged us almost USD 3000 for only six hours service. How big is it? Almost ten thousand Ringitt (Malaysian currency) for six hours service only.

However since Maria has Social Security Support, most of it has been discounted and we will have to pay only few hundred dollars. And this payment can be made by installment over the months or years.

But an illegal resident will not get any social security support and I do not know how they survive especially when they need medical attention.

In USA, the medical bill will come to you after the treatment and you can pay it by installment such as in one year, two year etc. Treatment first whether the patient is legal or illegal or tourist in the country. No hospital can deny treatment by law.

What is suprise, doctor offered Maria to take ice cream in the emergency room when Maria wanted to take something. We surprised to see how an asthma patient can be offered ice cream? There is no link between Asthma and Ice cream, doctor commented with a smile.

We are fine. US economy I assume recovering gradually. Rate of unemployment is dropping gradually. Hope so I will get one job soon.

Khodar Khoje (In search of God)

As I told you I am writing a book entitled "Khodar Khoje (In search of God)" It would be a small book. The main spirit of this book is Panentheism which states that God exists within as well as outside the universe which contradicts with trasendence (meaning that God is beyond everything).

I wrote a sentence in the draft : Ami takeeye dekhi dokhkhin akashe khodar hashi choreeye poreche ( I see God is smiling in the sky)

One of my close friends immediately reacted and put an argument against it (as he follows trasendence doctrine I guess). I would like to respect his comment particularly about this sentence stated above. I wrote it as I see God's existence from the panentheism point of view, one of the school of thoughts in the study of theosophy and metaphysics.

I am still thinking about the book and keeping touch with my friends who normally give comments. However I have written already 20 pages where I am a medical doctor working in Dallas but I always see the shade of God here and there even while I drive in the Dallas highway.

Panentheism is an amalgamation of trasendence (God is beyond everything) and Pantheism (where the universe is an expression of God only).

Komol is working hard

Komol is really working hard to pass her medical qualification examination which is knocking at the door. So now a days, I cook at home so that she can continue her study. Her test center is located close to our apartment.

I told her if you fail the exam, appear again and again but do not worry about failing exam. Take it easy so that you can have a better and healthy life.

Last week I found a statistics states that about 70 million Americans have sleeping problem out of 300 million (the population size). And 15 million are out of job right now (I am one of them bye the bye).

Happy to know

Just received a call from my student in Multimedia University stating that he has passed the PhD viva. Thanks to God and thanks to viva committee. Indeed he has been working hard on his thesis for the last many years.

Job hunting at Sears

Sears is a chain shop where you can find all the household goods. I went there yesterday (which is located at Plano Road in Richardson) in search of a job. Manager told me they have a cashier position and asked me to apply. She brought me to a computer and asked me to apply on line.

I did accordingly but I had to answer 90 questions related to management and customer dealing. I did not give importance as I thought these these are only formalities. I just answered and declined to answer 20 of them out of 90..

Finally I submitted the online form and went to Manager again. She opened my file and said "Sorry, you could not pass the exam". I said "I did not appear any exam". She said, yes, you did as you had to answer 90 questions, Is it not? Then she told me, the whole system will be blocked for you for another 90 days as you have failed. So after 90 days, the system will reopen again and you can appear in exam. I am keeping your CV with me.

So I came out from the office. So the lesson is whenever we do something, we should not simply underestimate it. We should do it seriously. Thanks to Manager as she was polite and gentle.

The position as cashier in Sears is simply a odd job for me as it does not matches with my education and experiences. But it does not mean that it will lower my status in the society or people will look down upon me. Indeed, job is job and we should respect all types of jobs and profession as long as it is legal and not harmful for the society. For instance, Jesus Christ was a carpenter only but almost one third of the world population follow him.

University of Texas at Dallas

Today I am on the way to University of Texas at Dallas which is 20 minutes drive from my Richardson apartment. There I will be looking for an employment oppurtunity at any position. I am bringing some CVs with me so that I can use it there. Now a days, it is hard to get job but I am actively looking for.

In the afternoon I will be applying at Barnes and Noble book store at Garland for a position. They asked me to apply immediately as before Christmas they normally higher people. It is a book store.

Ok I am going now. It is 8 am in Richardson. Already purchased some Roti from Fiesta. These stuffs are good and I like it. Bye for a while.

Please do not lose your hope and confidence about employment (I am telling it to me). You will get it if you have faith, even if you ask the mountain to move, it will if you have faith (Holy Bible).

Khodar Khoje - A new book

Planning to write a new book entitled : Khodar Khoje, meaning : In search of God. Just created the plot while I was walking in the street last night after my dinner. This book will talk about God, how He may look like, what is Her nature, what He wants and so on.

O' the All-knowing, the all-seing, almighty, show us the right way, the way followed by your favorite ones.

Indeed I was thinking about it for the last few weeks. Need to write something as without writing something I can not enjoy my time. At least need to write at least one sentence daily.

You can hear some Marfoti Song that I have collected

Yes I will write it in my language as my command over English is very little, not enough to write some literature.

You can visit my writing in my blog just created : Bangladesher Golpo

I will be back shortly after my Isha Prayer. It is 12 midnight in Dallas. I have started to cook beef suddenly. Maria and Komol are in deep sleep.

Old books

From Malaysia I have brought some old books to Dallas. You can see some of them as below:

I walk at night

Before going to bed at night, I walk in front of my apartment for a while. Today I walked around 30 minutes and afterward I took a picture of Maria's three balls as below.

Maria in Schol in Dallas

Maria goes to school everyday what she did not do before. She goes to school because teachers are very good here. All teachers must have adequate training before joining a school. They know how to handle and manage a school student. Whenever they meet student, they simply hug the students. My daughter likes them very much due to their behavor and approach. US schools are like a playing ground, like a place to learn. You can see Maria in her school dress. She is 5 years now.

More than 100 applications

I have already sent more than 100 applications over the last two months for my job but no one has responded positively so far. But I am positive about an employment although rate of unemployment is about to reach at double digit.
